Welcome to the Action Figure Diary. This is a fiction blog, which means that it's an online story of fictional characters.

This story is set in a world that’s exactly like ours, with one big difference. Five years ago, a toy company invented living action figures. Lots of people own them now. Living action figures talk to you and spend time with you, but they don’t eat, drink, breed, or use the toilet. They are sold in pairs, to keep each other company when you’re not around.

I think of Action Figure Diary as Toy Story meets The Brady Bunch. The backstory is that Trish was living alone with two action figures named Lisa and Jane, and Joe was living alone with two action figures named Alex and Brian. Trish and Joe dated, fell in love, and got married. Now there are two married humans and four action figures living together. This is the story of what that's like.

Action Figure Diary will be updated every Sunday. It’s a mixed-media project. Some episodes will be photo-comics, some episodes will be diary entries written by the characters. This story is best told from multiple points of view, so characters will take turns narrating. The name of the narrator is listed in the headline.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you’ll have as much fun reading this as I have creating it.

Friends and family: I want to clear up some confusion by pointing out that this is a fictional story, not the real-life diary of Trish and Joe. There is a deliberate separation between our real lives and the Action Figure Diary. Please think of this as a play in which Joe and I are performing. If you want to know what’s really going on with us, please call.

I see a slight influence of the Falzone side of the family in the "Live Action Figures" attitudes.
